Local Research Advisory Group

Local Research Advisory Groups are established to provide local knowledge and input to inform the research in each of the two regional areas.

The Local Research Advisory Groups

Community members from the Clarence City Council, Greater Hobart area and Gympie Regional Council areas submitted expressions of interest for the Local Research Advisory Groups in December 2019 - January 2020.  Two local advisory groups were established in February 2020.

Advisory Group Aims

The Advisory Groups help to maximize community participation of people with disabilities and/or chronic illness by:

  • providing feedback on research tools and ideas on enhancing participant voice

  • providing input on ways to best engage locally

  • facilitating linkages within networks and the broader sector to support the promotion of the project

  • promote research events, initiatives, and programs. 

Are you Interested in joining?

The Local Research Advisory Groups are for people who identify as a person with a disability and/or chronic illness, who are 16 years and older, and who live in Clarence City Council or Gympie Regional Council areas. A family member of a child with a disability and/or chronic illness 15 years and under who live in either area can also apply to join. 

If you would like to join your Local Advisory Research Group:

  • Read your areas Terms of Reference (TOR)

  • Complete and return an Expression of interest (EOI) form
