When we say disability, we mean all disabilities including chronic illness.

We want to make communities inclusive for everyone.

The Photovoice Project

A Photovoice project uses photos or video to show people what something means.

You then tell a researcher about the photos.

This is called a chat with a researcher.

You can have a chat with the researcher by yourself.

You can have a chat with the researcher in a group.

Who can do the Photovoice Project?

 If you are under 18 you will need guardian consent.

Various community members.

The Photovoice project is for people who live, work or study in:

Clarence City Council Logo

Clarence City Council and the Greater Hobart area, Tasmania

or

Gympie Regional Council Logo

Gympie Regional Council, Queensland.

Take the Photos

You are to do 2 things

People with disabilities being included in the community.

1. Take 1 to 6 photos or a short video that shows us what helps make you and people with disabilities and/or chronic illness feel included. Like

  • other people

  • places like your own town or neighbourhood

  • services like library, buses

Comparision of people with disabilities not being included and being included in the community.

2.  Take 1 to 6 photos or a short video of things to fix to make community better for people with disabilities. Like

• other people’s attitudes

• places like your town or neighbourhood

• services like library, buses

After you have taken the photos
